Pullout, take the risk, after all, you are married
It’s both. I have been on birthcontrol for a few years no kids yet but yeah the side effects come and go.
There are new birth control pills to help it I think it is called yaz
if you guys dont want kids like EVER….he should get the procedure….birth control is costly and a pain in the ass. Plus, a chance of having a stroke. i believe women can get their tubes tied as well….or something similar
go wit ur instinct and gurls r alwayz rit
Logic is on your side but we men have a lot of apprehension about any kind of modifications to that part of our anatomy. There is a fear that something could go wrong and put us out of commission permanently.
I’m not sure what Donkey’s problem is but let’s all ignore him.
selffish that is men’s 2nd name. The one that doesn’t take responsibility will always the one to blame when thing goes wrong.
Neither of you are; both of you want an option that doesn’t have a impact on your own bodies.
Have you tried other types of “the pill” that may not cause the same kind of side effects you’re experiencing?
Your best option might be condoms.
Here’s a little-known secret:
Abstainance is the best birth control.
Midrea is a IUD and last for five yrs. It only releases hormones to the uterus and you don’t have to remember to take a pill or shot. It dosen’t have the same side effects of wieght gain that other forms have because of the hormones being released locally.
no ur not being selfish. he just might not want to get one in case u change ur mind about another kid. i would suggest mirena. its a type of birth control that lasts five years or less if you choose. here go to this website.
I wouldn’t get cut either, only one option left…condoms
i think you are right to not take the risk of birth control if you are going to get hair loss or stuff like that. on the other side your boyfriend might be scared of side effects of vasectomy but if there arent any then he should be the one doing it unless he wants to wear condoms every night, an other idea is not sleeping in the same bed but, well you know, it doesnt have to come to that. one thing before i go: unexpected pregnancies are really not that common so theres not too much to worry about !
any one can
Since you don’t want any more children, you should both do something permanent.
There is only ONE answer to this question: If he truly does not want any more children and he cares about your health.
He should get the vasectomy.
your husband can not get a vasectomy until he is 30 years old. i got my tubes tied cause i do not want any more. if you do not want any more then that is a decision that you have to make. besides with that many kids your, if your husband is out cheating you will know.lol….when my brother got one he totally changed he got real lazy. kinda like a nurtured dog.
It is so easy to get a vasectomy. You can even get a general anesthetic if you want from most doctors who perform it. It’s still mid level surgery though. You may want to try using two or even three levels of protoection- male condom, spermicidal jelly and a female condom even.
Didn’t know about the 30 thing- although getting your tubes tied is major surgery. Try the three layer thing.
have you ever heard of an IUD that is what i had put in after my 2nd child.its worked great for 8 yrs no condoms, no pills ,no pulling out.
I think he is. A vasectomy is a very small operation. Some men have it in the doctors surgury under local anaesthetic. For you to stay on birth control, yes there are some very bad side effects, especially being on it for a long period of time. Secondly all birth control methods are not 100% accurate, so there is still a risk of falling pregnant. The only sure fire way of ensuring no more children is for him to have a vasectomy or you to have your tubes cut and tied. A woman having her tubes cut and tied is considered a major operation where you have to go into hospital under general anaesthetic and get cut open. He surely doesnt want you to go through that. It is far easier if he was to go for a vasectomy. I have never heard of any man dying from having a vasectomy, but heaps of people die when they have major surgery. Complications can arise from any major surgery. A vasectomy takes a couple of minutes, he is sore for a little while, but can go home straight away. Those two methods are the only two sure ways of not conceiving any more children. He needs to step up to the plate and stop being such a coward.
Can I just add to the woman who said an IUD. I fell pregnant with my 3rd child on an IUD. My daughter has been on injections for the past 5 years and she has had some terrible trouble now…it was too long. And the pill….well, I have heard of numerous people falling pregnant on the Pill. None of those methods will give you total peace of mind. Also the side affects, like you said, can be pretty damaging.
They make a contraceptive “film”, that is wafer thin and melts over your cervix – neither of you know it is there, and it is extremely effective. Not messy, does not interfere with “feeling”, easy to use. Ask your Ob/Gyn – or the pharmacist. It has been so long I cannot remember the name of it.
My husband volunteered to get a vasectomy because he did not want me to have to take hormones anymore. He took two days off work, was sore for a few days, and that was it. It makes NO DIFFERENCE AT ALL in any way – except we do NOT have to even think about birth control EVER.
Sorry guys, but the men who do this for their wives are AWESOME. They are the REAL men – you guys who refuse are narrow minded selfish wimps. A REAL man does not judge his masculinity by his sperm count.
If you are both sure that you don’t want any more kids and that there is not the slightest chance you’ll change your minds later, then I think he should get himself “fixed”. For men, it’s a very simple procedure, and certainly better than you being on the pill for the next – what, 20, 30? – years.
Just remember that “No, sorry, can’t enjoy it if I have to worry about an unwanted pregnancy.” is a very powerful sentence and can be repeated as needed.
He’s selfish
A vasectomy is a minor operation and has n effect on life after. Also a vasectomy is the best birth control statistically
In some countries it is commonly done by men. For instance in NZ
Hormones are a pain in the proverbial They mess with you and you hormonal balance
My ex had it done He was sore for 2 days and that was that.
Also these days of you do change your mind the succesrate of reversal is quite high
As for the man (Joachim) who said get your tubes tied:
A vasectomy is under under local anaesthetic and takes 10 minutes. Recovery time 1-2 days for the man.
A tubular ligation is a full operation under general anaesthetic
Operation takes about an hour and recovery time is 1-2 weeks.
Also why should the woman always carry the bl**dy burden of ensuring that no children are born? It is about time after three children and her taking care of birth control for years that he should take some responsibility for HIS sperm.
Personally I would say no s*x without birthcontrol and it is your turn now.
Obviously neither one of you have acknowledged the main problem with regular birth control VS vasectomy…Birth control is NOT 100% effective you CAN get pregnant while on ANY form of birth control. I’m living proof the pill isn’t 100% effective, gotten pregnant twice while on the pill. Took it everyday, same time everyday, read the stuff that came with it was fully aware that it was NOT 100% effective. The only way to “get around” this problem is for HIM to use a condom if he doesn’t want another child.
“A woman having her tubes cut and tied is considered a major operation where you have to go into hospital under general anaesthetic and get cut open” You must be living in the dark ages. A tubal ligation can be done simply by laproscopic surgery through the navel, it can be done under LOCAL anesthetic and as an outpatient procedure, it depends on the preference of the doctor and patient. My tubes were cut, tied, burned via laproscopic surgery, however I requested to be put under completely and to stay overnight. (I wanted the REST!)
Get your tubes tied…..
