Have you ever had a vasectomy? Did you have side effects / pain after the procedure?
I know аƖƖ thе information аbουt a man getting a vasectomy, аѕ ԁοеѕ mу husband, thе reasons whу аnԁ whу nοt tοο, risks, etc. Mу husband wіƖƖ bе getting one soon, аnԁ I’d јυѕt Ɩіkе information / opinions frοm people whο′ve actually hаԁ one.
Dіԁ уου hаνе аnу side effects? Wаѕ thе pain bаԁ аftеr thе procedure bаԁ? Whаt wеnt through уουr head аftеr thе surgery – аnԁ before?
Yes, I hаνе talked tο mу husband аnԁ yes, a ԁесіѕіοn hаѕ bееn mаԁе already, аnԁ wе′ve both bееn given a mountain οf information – bυt I јυѕt wanted аn opinion frοm someone whο’s bееn through іt. Thanks! Anу information іѕ welcomed!
Hе’s still young [21] bυt wе hаνе three kids already. Hіѕ doctor аƖѕο tοƖԁ υѕ thаt a vasectomy саn bе reversed іf needed.
Anԁ ѕіnсе I seem tο ɡеt pregnant іf wе share thе same soap…
I’m nοt treating іt аѕ though іt’s reversable. I’m јυѕt stating whаt thе doctor ѕаіԁ. I’m 24 аnԁ mу husband іѕ 21. Wе hаνе three kids аƖƖ under three. Thе next addition tο thіѕ family wіƖƖ bе a goldfish οr pet οf sorts. Wе don’t need аnу more children.

I had one about 15 years ago in a small country hospital. it was a 1/2 hour procedure and I walkied out and drove myself home afterwards. I was back at work the next day. I suffered very little discomfort and my wife and I are very happy with the result.
Before the operation I wondered who the nurse would be as I lived in a small country town and knew all the staff at the hospital. my wife and I had discussed it and I agreed that it was the simplest for me to have the snip.
I was a little concerned about not being able to “get it up” aftewards but as a number of mates had had the operation with great success i put it out of my mind..
Hope this is some help… cheers wombat
Feels like you have been kicked in the balls repeatedly !
He’ll walk like john Wayne
Well worth it in the end.
Well I am in a unique situation. I am schizophrenic and I cannot care for a child so I had a vasectomy. I went in they gave me a long acting and a short acting numbing medicine. Snip snip. She cut the vas and it was all over. I never had any side effects or pain or anything. I got ten vicodin but to be honest I just wanted them to feel happy for a couple days. It was less painfull then getting a cavity filled at the dentist.
He’ll be sore for a few days, be sure he follows the post operation recommendations and he’ll be fine.
i was nervous at first.
they strap you down and make sure your “dinger dang” is numb. he won’t mind all that because they give you a pretty good dose of valium intravenously.
as soon as the doctor is done- about 40 minutes-he’ll put a jock strap on your husband and have him where it a couple of days. i was sore for 2 full days but it wasn’t too bad.
may i suggest that you shave your husband before you go or, like me, a nurse will be doing it-not fun! she was hideous!
they’ll want a sperm sample after a couple of weeks for a count and that’s it!
i felt so much more at ease shooting blanks and not worrying about pregnancy.
good luck to you both!
This was a piece of cake. I have had mine done many years ago, 8 actually. I do not regret it. our twins are now 10. If we ever decide to have more then I’ll go in and have it reversed. But when I had my procedure, it was quick. It did hurt. despite the shots of anesthetic, it felt like the Doc had a testicle in a pair of pliers and was squeezeing it. Although it was for a short time it was several short times. And the incision was so small that you just get gauze on your sac and thats it. However I shave anyways so I was all prepped before I went into thew office. But I did get some pain the following weeks, like in my lower abdomen, similar to being kicked in the groin but not as intense. Other than that it was easy. I do gotta say it has helped with our spontanaity.
I had my vasectomy (1977) on a Friday morning. I spent the day on the couch with an ice pack in my groin. Saturday, wearing a pair of speedos, I went to my in-laws for a cook out, where I sat around. I skipped church and went to work Monday (mostly a desk job, and the walking about I delayed a few days). I was tender, but that was to be expected after any operation. Thirty days after the vasectomy I was declared a ‘training machine.’ No more babies. My youngest is 35.
Reversals may be more likely now with the technology of today but back then it was an iffy thing.
Good luck!
Never, ever treat a vasectomy as reversible. They are not. Some can be but it is not a reversible procedure. Your doctor was an idiot to tell you that. All vasectomies should be treated as not reversible as many are not reversible and your husband’s may very well be one that is not reversible.
im 21 and i cant imagine myself, or any other guy my age getting one. i think it is rather silly/unnecessary. its usually older males who get it done. i know you all dont want to have more kids, but i would stick with birth control for now. wait till hes older…much older. but then again, you all are married, so its totally up to you. im just voicing my opinion.
but to answer your question…no, it isnt dangerous. its completely safe and men can still enjoy a normal sex life while having this procedure done.
I got mine done just couple of weeks back and everything went very well . It was little pain during snip as just minor numb dose was administrated . I had sore balls for couple of days as they were paining while walking . it has been two weeks now and I am doing absolutely fine . Planning to get sperm test done in next couple of weeks to see the result .
