You should probably go to the doctor and find out, but I’m thinking if he took testosterone, it would make him more…active.
I don’t think that his low/no sex drive is attributable to his vasectomy. It could be due to low testosterone. see a Dr.!
Not physically, maybe mentally.
Reversing it will have no effect.
The only thing the vasectomy does is stop the sperm flow. The testicles still produce testosterone. Maybe he is low.
A simple blood test will determine that.
No the vasectomy had nothing to do with it. Rumors of lost sex drive and impotency are just urban legend. A vasectomy has no physical side effects.
Either he has some medical issue (that is not related to his vasectomy), or he is having a psychological issue with it. I suggest he see a doctor, then maybe a councilor. I think he will be back to normal in no time.
This may be something as simple as a vitamin or mineral deficiency in his diet, or a lack of exercise. Other things can be drugs (prescription, over the counter, or illegal), drinking, etc.
Keep in mind that drugs like Viagra may help, but for the most part they are just psychological. In most cases fake Viagra is just as effective as real Viagra.
One-Half million men get vasectomies every year, in the USA alone. If there was the slightest chance of this, the numbers would be a lot less.
I think you should just encourage him, and let him know how much you enjoy sex with him.
i wish i had never had the darned operation.experienced the same problem 1 year after the snip.total zilch.that was 18 years ago.sorry for morbid answer, but you did ask.just be kind to him as i am sure you are.in hindsight it is not natural to tie knots in a flow tract.my biggest regret.good luck.
As I guy whoI eero had this ‘minor procedure’ 3 years ago I can sympathise. I experienced a year’s discomfort with a swollen epididymis and got next to no help or attention from the NHS who dismissed my symptoms until they were forced to. My problems are by no means rare – up to 30% of guys have them – but it suits their purposes to ignore them. Apparently ’snip’ ops are a nice source of easy income for NHS trusts! The op and subsequent lack of help has ruined my previously fine sex life (but according to the current regurgitated medical opinion I am mistaken in my thinking). I have gone on to develop kidney stones, the risk of which is doubled following a vasectomy and known about by the medical fraternity, but never discussed – google it yourself. All in all, this is one of my biggest regrets, and would not recommend it to anyone. Leave your body alone. Just ask your urologist if he’s had it done – he won’t have!!
I had mine 13 years ago when I was in my mid-20s after my second son was born. I had no medical problems until a little over two years ago when my body stopped producing enough testosterone and my prostate swelled. I honestly can’t say with any certainty that it was due to the vasectomy though. More likely it was caused by diet and other factors.
I can say for certain though that now that I am a little older and wiser, I wish I had not had the procedure done, not because of any health reasons, but because my wife and I actually would like to have another child now.
For anyone thinking about having a vasectomy, I know the immediate benefits are very appealing, but think long and hard about your long-term future plans before you make this decision. Certainly don’t do it because you’ve been told that it will improve your marraige and sex life. It won’t. If your marriage is having problems, sex (or the lack of) isn’t the cause. It is a symptom. There are other issues there that need to be worked out with the help of a marriage counselor or family therapist that having a vasectomy won’t resolve.
